The city of the future!
What does the city of the future look like? Architects and urban designers are working on this every day. But the user of the future is rarely asked that. In the Young Urban Planners — The City of the Future project! the Van Eesteren Museum asks young people about their city of the future. How do they envision the city of the future that must both densify and green, improve and become more sustainable?
45 fourth-year students from three Amsterdam Technasia, the Caland Lyceum, the Damstede Lyceum and the Metis Montessori Lyceum, have been exploring the Couperus neighborhood in Amsterdam Nieuw-West to locate their city of the future in that context. For six months, they worked at school with teachers and developed their ideas under the guidance of various experts. From 1 February, their plans for the future will be on display at the Van Eesteren Museum for two weeks. Stop by and admire the future designs in the Young Urban Planners — The City of the Future exhibition.
The exhibition is made possible in part by Rabobank and the ELJA Foundation and can be visited free of charge.
