Museum Night: Egypt Night!
Van Eesteren dives into the Egyptian night! Egypt? Yes!
During Museum Night, the Van Eesteren Museum is all about Egypt! Did you know that architect Arthur Staal designed a gigantic pyramid on the Sloterplas seventy years ago? The steel and aluminum pyramid, which covers an area of no less than 10,000 square meters, was ultimately never built. During Museum Night, this special connection between Amsterdam and Egypt comes to life!
Explore the rich history of Egyptian textiles with artist Nora Taher at the shawl making workshop. Learn about different fabrics, weaving techniques and the beautiful patterns of the fabrics. Check out the Egyptian movie poster collection by Moataz Rageb, also known as DJ Arabesquo and Nieuw-West collector!
Discover it all during Museum Night at the Van Eesteren Museum. And end the night with tunes by Disco Arabesquo!
