Open Call: Nieuwelingen
The Van Eesteren Museum invites creators, designers and artists to submit existing work for the exhibition Nieuwlingen. The exhibition shows works of art by makers and artists from Nieuw-West. If you are selected, your artwork will be part of the exhibition Nieuwelingen.On display at the Van Eesteren Museum. You can register for the Open Call until 1 May 2024.
Nieuwelingen
The exhibition Nieuwelingen shows talent, artists and makers from New West. The exhibition is part of the Blue Zone Festival. During this festival, the Van Eesteren Museum, together with cultural institutions and makers from Nieuw - West, is organizing an open studio route, which focuses on workshops, lectures, food and bike tours for a weekend. The Blue Zone festival will take place on the weekend of July 6 and 7, 2024.
Criteria
The only criterion for this Open Call is that you live or work in Nieuw-West!
How do I participate?
- The deadline for submissions is 1 May 2024.
- Provide up to four pages of finished work plus dimensions.
- With artistic explanation and/or biography.
- In PDF format to rosa@vaneesterenmuseum.nl.
Selection process
Judging is done by the Van Eesteren Museum in collaboration with Jaleesa Clows. The results of the selection will be announced on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
honorarium
The artist's fee is determined with the calculator from the BKNL.
About the museum
The Van Eesteren Museum tells a broad and current story about urban planning, from the history of the post-war Amsterdam Expansion Districts. The museum is about the life and ideas of urban planner Cornelis van Eesteren and his team. The museum is located in the heart of Amsterdam Nieuw-West and consists of an outdoor museum, an indoor museum and a fifties museum home. The museum organises various exhibitions, walks, excursions, talks and other activities. Since 2017, the museum has been located in a newly built museum pavilion on the Sloterplas.
