Take a walk through the future of that time in Geuzenveld.

Accompanied by a guide, you will walk through the garden city of Geuzenveld. At the time, the neighborhood was built for Amsterdammers who came from the old neighborhoods and left their poor and small homes behind, and for newcomers who otherwise had no place in the city at all. The six neighborhoods around Lambertus Zijlplein still bear the name of the architect who designed the neighborhood.

In design, the district is a response to the construction of Bos en Lommer and Slotermeer: Geuzenveld had to change. The planning area was divided into several neighborhoods, with also reserved areas for facilities such as shops, schools and recreation. These six neighborhoods around Lambertus Zijlplein were each assigned to a housing association and designed by each its own architect. The name of these architects of the New Building is still associated with the neighborhoods. The built result has become a varied neighborhood. And as it should be in a dynamic city, the neighborhood is not frozen in time: recent innovation has brought profound changes. Walk along and see what has remained, what has disappeared and what has been added.
